Congratulations to Carley Roberts and Taylor Payne! Their drawings were selected in the Glasstastic competition through the Brattleboro Art Museum. Each of their drawings will be turned into sculptures by glass artists. The exhibition is from March 18-June 18 and any artist who submitted work will have their drawings on display! Only 20 drawings were selected from 1,000.

The Candy Land Social was a huge success.  Thank you to everyone who came, and a special thank you to the Why Not? students who helped to plan the social and take care of the decorations, games, raffle and food.  The results of the 3-point basketball competition are: 3rd place – Anthony McGahy of Verve; 2nd place – Tommy O’Leary of Dorset House; and the winner was Koa Yee of Polaris.  Mr Yoon was the closest guess in the Jelly bean game, but gave up his prize to the second closest guess, which was Davis Cota.
 
The Multimedia Club will meet in room 167after school today. New members are welcome.

Congratulations to both the Girls A & B basketball teams.  The B team won 56-12.  The A team won 27-12.  It was a total team effort with everyone contributing to the win.
 
The A basketball team lost a close one in over time to Brown's River by 4pts.  They fought back and never gave up. They played with a lot of heart and passion.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is on Sunday Oct. 16th at Dorset Park. You can go to the Strides website to sign up and/or you can bring in bags of plain or peanut M&Ms to donate.  These M&Ms will be handed out to the walkers on Sunday. In past years the South Burlington School Community has donated over 100 pounds of M&Ms!! The M&M collection box located in the main office. All M&M donations need to be in by Friday! Thank you for your support!
 
Students who plan to ride a bus home with a friend need to bring a note from their parent giving their permission to ride home with a friend.  Bring the note to the office and have it stamped.

Drama:  Today’s rehearsal after school will take place in Mr. Bailey’s room and end at 5pm. The only cast members needed are Grusha and The Singers.
 
There is a Social tonight from 6:30-9PM.  The cost is $5.
 
As we all know, it’s the beginning of fall, but it isn’t October, it’s SOCK-tober! This month we will be participating in a sock drive. If you have any new or unused socks, then you can bring them to school where we will have bins set up in the lobby. Also, we will have bins set up for alternative items such as clothing, canned goods, bottled water, etc. Our goal is to get 1,500 pairs of socks. Together, let’s make this SOCK-tober great!

Congratulations to the boys A and B soccer teams in their wins yesterday vs Charlotte.
The B Boys soccer team will scrimmage today after school.  No practice for the A Boys soccer team today.
 
The B team field hockey won their first game yesterday 1-0 against Brown's River. The winning goal was scored by Mary Oltreau, with an assist by Emma Shedler. Great game played by all. Congrats girls!

Drama: There will be an all-cast rehearsal tomorrow after school in room 164. All cast members should let Bailey or Richter know today, if they can attend Saturday’s trip to Boston.  There will be an informational meeting for anyone interested in working behind the scenes for the fall play – this Thursday after school in Bailey’s room.
